UPDATE 10/18/08: Even after Joe Ellis of the Denver Broncos went on record that the chant would stay, there is still some indication that it is either being phased out or isn't being treated with the attention it should from Alan Roach.

We need your help to save this Broncos tradition.

The Broncos' fans are famous for their IN-COM-PLETE chant and it's part of the Mile High Magic that many fans feel has been slowly disappearing.  You have a chance to insure that the Magic remains.

On August 24th, a season ticket holder named David wrote the following letter, which he posted on BroncosForums.com:

Dear Denver Broncos Fans,

I've been a season ticket holder since 1994. In that time, I have been proud to be a part of the traditions that make Denver Colorado one of the toughest places to play in the NFL and have made Broncos fans some of the greatest in the country. Sadly, one of the traditions that is truly unique to being a Denver Broncos fan is in danger of going away...

....the tradition of the IN-COM-PLETE chant.

For those who may not know, Alan Roach went on record in an interview after he was hired to be the new stadium announcer that he might not "honor" the IN-COM-PLETE chant started by the retiring Alan Cass thinking it might not be a "Broncos thing" but rather an Alan Cass thing.

Broncos fans have become notorious for chanting this after the opposing team throws an incomplete pass. It's been a fun way of involving the fans and annoying the opposing quarterback. And, despite the uncertainty of Mr. Roach, the IN-COM-PLETE chant is indeed a tradition of the fans.

So far this season, it looks like he might be serious about ignoring this tradition. While he has led the stadium in the chant on occasion this offseason, he has either been forgetting to do it on every incomplete pass, or he's slowly working it out of the game. In the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, he didn't do it for most of the game and his lack of enthusiasm when he did do it was obvious.

Most fans would agree that it's becoming harder and harder to maintain tradition in today's NFL, what with stadiums designed for corporations instead of the "every day Joe," and I don't want to see another one bite the dust. The IN-COM-PLETE chant is a Broncos original and has become a tradition at home games. I'm asking my fellow Broncos fans to join me in signing this petition, letting the Denver Broncos and Alan Roach know that we don't want to lose one of the trademarks of playing football in Denver Colorado. This is not Mr. Roach's decision to make.

WE WANT OUR IN-COM-PLETE!!

Go Broncos!!

David
